Project Description
At Sorcit, we are lucky enough to work with talented artists and illustrators. We are experts in taking clients 2D images and designs and translating them into physical products suitable for our clients to retail. One such client, is RACHEL ELLEN DESIGNS. Rachel creates all her own artwork and we have produced beautiful children’s textile accessories and pens.
The hardest part of applying graphics to any substrate, is maintaining the colours, detail and quality of the prints which we have been provided. In this case, the vibrancy of the colour pallete, and the intricate designs; means we have to be extra vigilant at the final QC stage. We need to ensure the colours are correctly matched as per the approved samples, and the assembly & stitching is of excellent quality, before anything ships from the Chinese manufacturer. We also managed the EN71 testing that was required on these child based products. Extensive test requiremenst for large retailers, such as John Lewis, meant this range had to comply with all current UK and EU legislation. We undertook this testing on clients behalf, which was initially conducted in China prior to production, and then with test laboratories in the UK for the main production run, ensuring the products were 100% safe when they left China.
We have been consistently supplying Rachel products for more than 5 years. The products retail online, but also in key retailers such as John Lewis. Rachels designs are also very popular in Japan, so we also supply products for her directly from China into her Japanese distributor.
